Welcome to a new year with Playtime In Spanish! We marked 1 year in the fall of 2011. I’m excited for all the new things coming to Playtime In Spanish in 2012. It has been such a pleasure to teach this class. My favorite part is looking at the children’s faces as I sing and and introduce them to new sounds and activities. I also enjoy the siblings that join us as well. I am a believer in inclusion and am happy to have children with special needs join the class. Another thing I enjoy is the diversity of families that participate in Playtime In Spanish.

For example one of my unforgettable participants was an energetic and enthusiastic boy who came each week with his grandfather who spoke mostly Vietnamese. His grandfather was so supportive and wanting to learn Spanish himself that he would bring a notepad with questions to ask me. His 3 year old grandson already speaking English and Vietnamese was also picking up the Spanish so quickly. Most importantly the children learn because my classes are designed for play and interaction.
